When you wake up after having slept for a dismal amount of time, you probably still get behind the wheel of the car. However, not having enough rest can make you just as much of a danger behind the wheel as is a drunk driver. You could cause an accident that leads to serious or fatal consequences for yourself, your passengers or other people on the road.

Some studies have shown that people who do not sleep for the proper amount of time are more likely to be overweight or obese. You may feel extremely tired because you are suffering from sleeping disorders and carrying around extra weight on your body.

Focus at Work

Not only do you want to make sure that you are taking care of your physical health, but you also must place an emphasis on your career-life. When you do not sleep enough, focusing at work is going to prove a challenge. You may begin to doze off during an important meeting, or you may lack the necessary attention to work on projects with small details. In fact, the problems could be so bad that you lose your job. If you are a student attending an educational program, then you may also run into the same problem. You can also lose the ability to focus on projects that you are doing at home.
